Indian all -rounder Hardik Pandya posted an emotional video on social media on the first anniversary of India’s T20 World Cup 2024 win. In this video, he remembered the historic moment when India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final to win an ICC trophy after 11 years.
Hardik played an important role
Pandya added 5 runs from the bat in the final match and took 3 wickets for 20 runs in 3 overs, performing brilliantly in bowling. He showed the path of return to India by taking the crucial wicket of Heinrich Klassen (52 runs, 27 balls). Pandya wrote, ‘It was a dream for me to play for the country, a blessing. In 2011, I was on the road, celebrating the same teams. He always liked to live in such circumstances. This leads to the best performance in me. I always imagined myself by throwing the last ball of the final of the World Cup or hitting the final run. The last 6-7-8 months were very difficult, but that day everything got down from the head. And I was just thinking – ‘Finally, I showed it for the country.’
Suryakumar Yadav’s memorable catch
On the first ball of the final over, David Miller played an elevated shot towards long off, but he could not cross the boundary. Suryakumar Yadav threw the ball in the air, showing a great balance near the boundary line and came back inside and completed the catch. This catch was counted among the best catches in the history of the ICC tournament.
