In Kolkata, people took out a flashlight rally to protest against the gang rape incident.

Archana Majumdar, a member of the National Commission for Women, visited the college on Sunday in the Kolkata Law College gang rape case. He alleged that efforts are being made to hide something in this case. Majumdar said that the police is not fully cooperating with the Commission.

Archana Majumdar said, ‘Victim’s family is under tremendous pressure. The police do not even know where he is at this time. He also stopped me from recording a video of the crime site.

On the other hand, the BJP took out a ‘Virgo Security Yatra’ in Kolkata on Sunday evening, which has been held to support Victim and to register a protest against the crime. The march was taken out under the leadership of Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.

BJP workers also attended the flashlight rally against the incident.

CCTV footage confirmed gang rape

The gang rape has been confirmed by CCTV footage in the gang rape case of Kolkata’s law student. The CCTV of the college has about 7 hours footage from 3:30 pm to 10:50 pm on June 25.

An investigating officer said that the incident of forcibly taking the victim student in the guard room in CCTV has been captured. This confirms the allegations made in the written complaint of the student.

At the same time, the guard where the room was raped, was arrested on Saturday. Police said that he was arrested after questioning. A total of four arrests have been made so far in the case.

Apart from this, the number of members in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed on Friday in the case was increased from five to nine today. Assistant Commissioner of Police Pradeep Kumar Ghoshal is leading it.

The incident took place on 25 June in the guard room of the ground floor of the college. The main accused is Manojit Mishra (31). The incident also includes Jab Ahmed (19) and Pramit Mukherjee (20). Manjit is an alumnus of the college, while Jab and Pramit are students of the college.

Medical report also confirmed the rape from the victim The medical report of the victim student confirmed the rape on Saturday. The medical examination was done at the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital (CNMC). According to the police, there have been marks of forcing the victim, cutting the body and scratching from the nail. He has also confirmed the assault.

Police arrested two accused and the third accused on 26 June on 26 June. The court has sent all three to police custody till 1 July. Law College guard Pinaki Banerjee (55) was also arrested on Saturday.

TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee made a disputed statement about the incident. Banerjee said- What can be done if a friend raats his friend.

Manjit was hiring due to lack of staff Law College Vice Principal Nayana Chatterjee told NDTV that the college administration got information about the incident through the media. The victim student or anyone else did not complain to the college administration about the incident.

He said that the police had sought permission to enter the campus a day after the incident. The security guard was also asked not to tell about this. Police have sealed two rooms of the ground floor. The Vice Principal also talked about doing the guard’s duty properly.

Chatterjee said that the main accused Manjit Mishra was appointed as a temporary faculty member a few months ago. Hilling was done due to lack of permanent staff.

TMC termed Kalyan Banerjee’s statement as private The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has separated itself from the controversial statement of MP Kalyan Banerjee on the incident. Banerjee had said on Friday- what can be done if a friend rapes his friend.

The party wrote in the X post, ‘MP Kalyan Banerjee’s statements are personal. This is not a party stand. The party keeps zero tolerance on crimes against women and demands the harshest punishment to the culprits.

Here, the Trinamool Congress on Sunday issued a show cause notice to its party leader and Qamarhati MLA Madan Mitra for his unwanted, unwanted and insensitive remarks on gangrape. The party said that the statement has hurt the image in every way.

The main accused is the case of gang rape … Chief police prosecutor Sorin Ghoshal said that according to the Supreme Court’s decision, all the persons who help in rape should be held responsible. In this case, two other persons helped in rape. Because of this it is a case of gang rape.

BJP leader Amit Malviya shared a Bengali news report on social media and wrote, ‘Surprising incident! A female law student was gangraped in the college campus. The accused include an alumnus and two college staff. A person associated with the Trinamool Congress is also involved in the case.

On the other hand, the head of TMC Student Wing, Trinakur Bhattacharya said- We never said that Manjit Mishra was not associated with TMC’s student wing. He was a junior member. The college does not have an active unit of TMC student wing.

Shashi Panja, a minister in the Bengal government, said- Aparajita Bill (death sentence for the culprits of rape) was passed in the West Bengal Assembly. It could not be made a law yet as the BJP stopped it. A woman’s body is not a battleground for your politics. It should be respected.
