The use of Azam application has started after the ban on loudspeakers of mosques in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra (Maharashtra). Half a dozen mosques of Mumbai have registered on a mobile phone application, which will tell the Namaz to the Namaz to Azan’s timing. This application named Online Azan has been created by a Tamil Nadu company.
According to the agency, Fahd Khalil Pathan, managing trustee of Mahim Zuma Masjid, said that in view of the restrictions and sensibilities related to the use of loudspeakers for Ajan, the dedicated mobile app helps in delivering azan directly from the local mosques to the Namazis. He told that this free app will give users the facility to listen to Azan at home.
Why was such a decision taken?
Khalil Pathan said, “This initiative has been taken after the strict police use on the use of loudspeakers, where the authorities visited the mosque (Zuma Masjid) and warned that action could be taken on using loudspeakers. Due to this the mosque temporarily closed its mic.”
Who made Ajan app?
The app was developed with technical support from a team of IT professionals in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu and is available on Android devices and iPhones. The app runs Azan’s live audio stream through mobile phones, at the same time when Azan is heard from the mosque. Pathan said that those who cannot hear Azan due to Namaji ban, they can now use this app.

How does application work?
This app also fulfills a big community purpose by telling users about the time of Namaz and it can be used as a smart watch alert system. Once installed and configured, it runs automatically.
The Namazis praised this initiative and said that even after the loudspeaker is closed, they can now stay connected with the mosque of their neighborhood through their mobile phones.
Pathan said that the 10×15 box speakers installed in mosques do not spread Azan’s voice like traditional loudspeakers. Many people who were accustomed to hearing Azan through loudspeakers, found it difficult to hear Azan from the mosque. In such a situation, the online Azan app has proved to be very helpful.
‘We have innovation instead of confrontation …’
Fahad Khalil Pathan, managing trustee of Mahim Zuma Masjid, said, “We chose innovation instead of confrontation. Now, despite the use of loudspeakers, Namaji can stay connected with Azan’s time. In the last three days, in the last three days, 500 people living around our mosque have registered on the app. Is.”
Users only have to download the app, choose their area and choose the nearest mosque. After this, whenever there will be azan from that mosque, they will get live notifications.

Mohammad Ali, one of the co-founders of online Azan, said that the app developing the app is three years old and there are 250 mosques in Tamil Nadu with it. He said that the company asks for the application form, the address of the mosque, proof and the Aadhaar card of the person who gives azan. Mumbai Congress general secretary Asif Farooqui welcomed the move to adopt new technology by mosques.
He said, “Loudspeakers are just a source that works to convey their point to the people. Others should not have any problem. Namaz is necessary, not loudspeakers. Mosques are adopting new methods.”
BJP leader run campaigns
BJP leader Kirit Somaiya is campaigning against the use of loudspeakers on mosques in Mumbai. The former MP has claimed that due to his campaign, 1,500 loudspeakers have been launched in Mumbai, which were being used without the permission of the officers.
