In the petition of former Maharashtra minister and Ambedkarite leader Sulekha Kumbhare, it was told that Mahabodhi Mahavihara is one of the holiest places for Buddhists. Since 1949, this place has been controlled by the Bihar government. It is a violation of the Fundamental Rights (Article 25, 26 and 29) related to arranging its own religious activities and creating religious institutions."Auto" Style ="Text-Align: justify;"> & nbsp;

The case appeared in front of the bench of Justice MM Sundaresh and Justice of Justice for hearing. Justice Sundaresh said that the petitioners are demanding amendments in a law of the state government. They demand that we order the state government. Keep in mind that the Mahabodhi Temple is one of the World Heritage Site of UNESCO. It is considered to be built at the same place where Mahatma Buddha gained knowledge. Hindus have been claiming this place as their ancient temple. Earlier this place was under the control of Hindu Mahants. In 1949, the Bihar government enacted a law and took it into its hands. The Bodh Gaya Temple Management Committee headed by DM of Gaya has 4-4 members of both communities. Buddhists have been demanding to give the temple completely in their possession for a long time.
