Imd warns heavy rainfall in india: The monsoon has started all over India. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) also made an official announcement of the launch of the monsoon on Saturday (29 June). Along with the announcement of monsoon, the Meteorological Department has also warned of heavy rains and flood situation across the country. The department said that this year the monsoon in the country has started nine days before the normal date. This is the fourth time in the last 26 years, soon the monsoon in the country has already dominated the whole country before its normal date.

IMD has predicted more rainfall in the whole country in the next few days. The department estimates that between June and September this year, there may be 108 percent more rainfall than the average across the country. However, heavy rains will prove to be helpful in sowing kharif crops in the country and due to this, inflation on food items will decrease in the coming months.

Indian Meteorological Department forecast for next 7 days

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in many parts of the northwest, middle, east and Northeast India for the next seven days. Apart from this, IMD has predicted extreme heavy rainfall in Jharkhand on 29 and 30 June.

There will be heavy rain in these areas in the next 24 hours

IMD has predicted heavy rains across the country in the next 24 hours. During this period, floods like floods can be created in many areas of South and Eastern Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and especially in Delhi, Yamunanagar district. Apart from this, the department has also issued flood warnings for areas around North Odisha, South West Bengal and Jharkhand.

How is the weather going till 29 June – 5 July

East and Central India: Excessive heavy rainfall: Jharkhand (29-30 June), Odisha (29 June). Heavy to very heavy rainfall: Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand. Light to moderate rainfall with thunder-glow, electricity and strong winds.

North-West India: Heavy rain: Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh very heavy rainfall: Uttarakhand, (June 29-3 July) Himachal, Punjab, Haryana (29-30 June) and in West UP and Rajasthan (June 29-2 July).

Western India: Heavy to very heavy rainfall for 7 consecutive days in Konkan, Goa, Central Maharashtra, Gujarat for 7 consecutive days.

Northeast India: Very heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura till 2–5 July.

South India: In many areas of Kerala and Mahe (June 29 and 3-4 July), heavy rainfall between July 2 to 5 in Karnataka and strong winds at a speed of 40-50 kmph.
