Telangana Pharma Plant Explosion Latest Updates Death Toll Rices to 34 Says Official

Telangana Factory Blast: The death toll has increased to 34 in the explosion at the drug plant of ‘Sigachi Industries’ in Pashmalaram in Sangreddy district of Telangana. A senior police officer gave this information on Tuesday (1 July 2025). District Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj said, “Many bodies have been recovered under it while removing the rubble. 31 bodies have been removed from the debris, while three people died during treatment in the hospital. The final phase of the rescue operation is still going on. ”

Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will visit the accident site on Tuesday (July 1, 2025). Earlier, an official release said that Chief Minister A.K. Revanth Reddy expressed grief over the incident and instructed the officials to take all possible steps to save the trapped workers and provide modern treatment to them.

There were about 90 people in the plant when the explosion occurred

State Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha told reporters that about 90 people were working in the plant when the explosion occurred. It is suspected that Monday’s fierce accident occurred due to a chemical reaction, which also caused the fire. According to the company’s website, Sigachi Industries Limited is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company. Expressing grief over the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund and Rs 50,000 thousand for the injured.

However, Inspector General of Police (Multizon) V Satyanarayana told reporters that it was a case of reactor explosion.
