Police carried out a statewide campaign against illegal sales of beef in Assam. Under this, raids were conducted in many districts including Guwahati, Nagaon, Charidev, Kokrajhar, Dibrugarh and South Kamrup. During this time more than a quintal beef was recovered. Police raided four hotels in Kokrajhar and hostels in Guwahati.
