Ravindra Chavan, the new president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Maharashtra unit, gave a big blow to the opposition Congress as soon as he took charge. In the presence of Ravindra Chavan, Maharashtra Congress Executive President Kunal Patil left his hand and joined BJP. Leaving the Congress of Kunal is being considered a major setback for the Grand Old Party in North Maharashtra and Dhule.
Kunal Patil was counted in the Lok Sabha and was close to the Leader of the Opposition and former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Kunal Patil has been an MLA from Dhule Rural Assembly seat. A week ago, there was news of Kunal Patil’s secret meeting with Ravindra Chavan. Then such speculations were being made that Kunal may join BJP in the presence of CM Devendra Fadnavis and Ravindra Chavan.
However, Kunal Patil then dismissed the speculation of joining BJP. Accepting the meeting, Kunal Patil had said that he had met Ravindra Chavan in connection with his personal work. Now Kunal has joined BJP. He taunted his old party and said that the Congress’s association with the people has reduced.
