Deepak Bhardwaj, who hails from Gurugram, has demanded the name of Garib Rath train to be honored.

Deepak Bhardwaj says that the name ‘Garib Rath’ hurts the honor of the middle class and the people below it. His letter written on 26 June 2025 received in the Prime Minister’s Office on 30 June 2025. In which he reported that the name was started with good intentions, but it is socially derogatory.

Poor people backbone of progress of the country

He said that people of the toiling middle class and lower-middle class, including farmers, teachers, professionals, working women and students, are all the backbones of the country’s progress. They should get respect and recognition, not the name that insults them.

Suggested to keep the honor chariot

He proposed in front of the Railways that these trains should be named ‘Samman Rath’, so that the self-esteem and dignity of the passengers will remain. It will show social inclusion and respect for the spirit of the middle class and will send a positive message of the government’s commitment to elevate every section with respect and pride.

Passengers should not be given ‘poor’ labels

He said that this name change will be a step towards giving equal dignity to every citizen in society, but in society. In his letter, he wrote that India is not a poor nation and no citizen should be given a ‘poor’ label while using essential services. He has also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to consider this and take appropriate action.
