St. George (Granada): A member of the current West Indies team has been made serious allegations of sexual harassment, after which the team’s head coach Darren Sammy has demanded justice, but also emphasized on following the appropriate process.

A report published last week in Gayana’s Caetur News claimed that 11 women, including a teenager, have made sexual harassment allegations against this unidentified cricketer, some of which are reportedly up to 2023. No formal case has been filed so far.

Addressing the media before the second Test match against Australia, Sammy accepted the seriousness of the situation and insisted on respecting legal processes.

Former captain Sammy said, ‘We are all aware of what is going on in the media. I am very close to my players. I have talked to him. I can say one thing that we believe in justice. Our community is one that believes that justice should be done.

He said, ‘However, it has a process. Allegations have been made and we will help all possible on our behalf, so that the proper process and the correct system can be ensured.

Sammy said that the law should be allowed to do its work before reaching a conclusion. He said, ‘These are the allegations. We know the justice system. You have to wait for the process. I am not a judge. The information that has come out is with us. I am sure that there will be justice in the end.

When Sammy was asked whether the Cricket West Indies had started the investigation, they refused to confirm it. He said, ‘I cannot answer it honestly. I am sure that they are making every effort to ensure following the correct process. ‘
