11 players including former India cricketer and head coach Ravi Shastri were awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Mumbai Sports Journalist Association (SJAM).

Hockey Olympian Marwin Fernandes and Jokim Karwalho and former National Badminton Champion Sanjay Sharma were also honored. Shastri could not attend the ceremony here, but his mother Lakshmi brought back memories of her days of playing. He also mentioned his record of hitting six sixes in an over in a home match.
He said, “When Ravi came home, he had to go somewhere immediately. I asked what happened today, then he said that you have to know what I did, listen on All India Radio at seven o’clock. I told my husband to come home early. I heard the radio on which he said that he broke the record of Sobers (Gary). The next day was written on the banner on Marine Drive. ”
