Asaduddin Owaisi slammed yogi government: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi targeted the Yogi government of UP fiercely over the Kavad Yatra. He said on Wednesday (July 2, 2025) that the shopkeepers running the restaurant on the Kavad Yatra route in Muzaffarnagar are being harassed. He alleged that the shopkeepers are being asked to take off the pants.
Owaisi questioned why the government led by Yogi Adityanath is not following the last year’s interim order of the Supreme Court, which had stopped the decision to display their names and numbers outside the shops on the Kavad Yatra route.

Asking questions to the Yogi government, AIMIM MP said, “There are many hotels near Muzaffarnagar bypass. These hotels have been there for years. Is there no Kavad Yatra 10 years ago? Kavad Yatra used to start in a peaceful manner. There was no disturbance. There was no disturbance.

Owaisi said, “The police should do their work and arrest the shopkeepers.
What did the Supreme Court say?
On July 22 last year, an interim order was issued by the Supreme Court, in which the guidelines that ask shopkeepers to display their name on the Kawad Yatra routes in UP. The court said that the hotel owners will only display the food menu served in their eateries.
During the hearing, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi had said that the direction of the Uttar Pradesh government was issued without any legal rights and called it a pseudo order.
