Kuldeep Dhaliwal wrote in the letter that during heavy rains, floods in the areas of Ravi river near Ajnala in Amritsar not only cause damage to farmers’ cultivation. Rather, the outposts of the army and BSF posted on the border also cause serious damage, which adversely affect the security of the country.

Danger of drug smuggling incidents in the area
He said that due to floods, there is also a danger of increasing incidents of drug smuggling in the area. Which gives a serious challenge to the security of the state and the nation. Therefore, the minister has appealed to the Center to strengthen the flood control structure, strengthen border security and give necessary funds to the Punjab government to stop illegal activities.
