Amid tight security, the second batch of more than 5,200 pilgrims left from Jammu’s base camp on Thursday, which reached Pahalgam Base Camp at 2 pm. The second batch has left for Amarnath cave at 4 am on Friday.

The 38 -day journey will be from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes. The yatra will conclude on 9 August on the day of Rakshabandhan. Last year, the yatra lasted 52 days and 5 lakh devotees visited the holy cave.

This year, more than 3.5 lakh pilgrims have been registered so far. Centers have been opened in Saraswati Dham, Vaishnavi Dham, Panchayat Bhawan and Mahajan Sabha in Jammu for immediate registration. These centers are registering two thousand devotees daily.

Baba Amarnath’s first aarti was performed on Thursday morning.

Devotees shouted ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and ‘Bum Bum Bhole’ after leaving for Amarnath Yatra.

Tight security arrangements have been made on the Amarnath Yatra route. Along with the army, CRPF personnel have also been deployed.

Pahalgam route better for natural beauty Baltal route is better if you are coming only as a religious journey. If you want to live the natural beauty of Kashmir closely, then Pahalgam route is better. However, its condition is contrary to the Baltal route.

Travel from cave to Chandanbadi is fatigue, dust. The path is stoned and is very narrow at some places. Railings are missing in many places on 48 km long shabby route and there are different routes for horses. The Bhaskar team traveled on the second day from Pahalgam route. As soon as you grow on this route from the cave, you will meet with the young dog squad. Ahead of Panchatarni will be seen sitting in Bugyalas (green meadow on the mountains). This view was also seen at Ganesh top, flea top 14,800 feet above. Last time there was not so much security.

How to reach: Two routes for travel

1. Pahalgam Route: It takes 3 days to reach the cave with this route, but this path is easy. There is no standing climb in the journey. The first stop from Pahalgam is Chandanwadi. It is 16 km from the base camp. Climbing starts from here.

The journey reaches the flea top after three km climb. Walking from here, the journey reaches Sheshnag by evening. This journey is about 9 km. The next day, passengers from Sheshnag go to Pancharani. It is about 14 km from Sheshnag. The cave from Panchatarni remains just 6 km.

2. Baltal Route: If the time is short, then Baba can go through the Baltal route for Amarnath Darshan. It has to climb only 14 km, but there is a very steep climb, so the elderly have problems on this path. There are narrow paths and dangerous turns on this route.

What should be kept in mind during the journey… During the journey, keep medical certificate, 4 passport size photos, Aadhaar card, RFID card, travel application form with you. Practice 4 to 5 km of walking every day in terms of physical fitness. Do pranayama and exercise like breath yoga. Keep woolen clothes, raincoats, tracking sticks, water bottles and bags of essential medicines with you in the journey.

Amarnath cave is at an altitude of 3888 meters
