India vs bangladesh 2025 Odi series: India’s tour of Bangladesh has now almost averted. Although no official announcement has been made so far, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has stopped preparations for the next month’s ODI and T20 series. In the case of postponing the series, the fans will have to wait a little to see Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in ODIs.
Because in August, Team India also had to play 3 ODIs in Bangladesh, where Rohit and Kohli could be seen playing. Keep in mind that these two diggies will now only play fans at the International Level in ODI (ODI International).
In such a situation, the fans will now have to wait for the ODI series to be held in October against Australia to see Roko (Rohit-Kohli). According to the report of Cricbuzz- the biggest reason for postponing the series between India and Bangladesh is being considered as a deteriorating diplomatic relationship between the two countries, which is now showing the impact on cricket.
Now know why the first thing came to know that the tour could be postponed? In fact, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recently stopped selling its media rights, which was associated with the India series.
First, technical bidding was to be held on 7 July and financial bidding on 10 July. But now BCB has said that they do not want to make hurry yet and will take a decision only after studying the market well.
What was the plan of BCB earlier?
BCB wanted to sell two -year media rights from July 2025 to June 2027. But now he is preparing to sell rights for the 3-match T20 series (17-25 July) against Pakistan only.
The BCB officer said in a conversation with Cricbuzz- We will take the process forward, but will take some time to understand the market, there is no use of hurry now, we can also give different contracts. Initially, BCB was planning to sell a two -year media rights deal from July 2025 to June 2027. However, now his focus is on selling the media rights of the three T20 matches to be held against Pakistan from July 17 to 25. Only then will he pay attention to the rest of the series of the existing bicycle.
An Indian broadcaster also said on this issue- India is not being held with the series, even after the announcement of the tender, he did not give ITT (Invitation to Tender). Currently, he is selling rights only for the Pakistan series. ITT was first to be made available between 15 June and 6 July. However, this document on payment of US $ 3000 has now been postponed.
So what will happen next?
A BCB official said-The date of India series has not been decided yet. The BCCI has said that it is difficult for them to send teams in August. The tour is part of the FTP (Future Tour Program). No clear statement has yet come from the BCCI, but a senior official said that it can be decided within a week.
It is possible that BCCI and BCB will soon issue a joint statement about this series. India had to play three ODIs and three T20 matches between August 17 to 31.
The atmosphere in India is not currently favorable for the tour of Bangladesh. Recently relationship between the two countries has been stressed, the effect of which is also visible on cricket. Although no official statement has come from India or Bangladesh so far, it is believed that the Government of India has advised the BCCI not to visit this. The indication of this has been found in the conversation with those who are directly connected to this series.
Pakistan hockey team visa, status on cricket is not clear
On Thursday, news came that the Indian government has given a visa to Pakistan’s hockey team, so that it could participate in the Asia Cup to be held in Rajgir, Bihar from 29 August to 7 September. This indicates that the government is avoiding bilateral series with neighboring countries Pakistan and Bangladesh, but there is no restriction on participating in multinational tournaments. Now the question arises whether the government will also approve the Asia Cup cricket tournament to be held in September? At present, the answer is not clear, this is the biggest question.
How did BCB change media rights plan?
Initially, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had planned to divide and sell media rights into three parts, with satellite TVs (including worldwide, including Bangladesh), Digital OTT Rights (including the world, including Bangladesh) and DTH (Direct to Home) Rights only in Bangladesh. Later, he made a change in this tender and made it more flexible. Now companies can bid together for the whole world, or they can also bid according to different areas (eg only Bangladesh, or Rest of World).
