Apache Helicopters: The Apache AH-64e helicopter was one time known for its strong performance in the war zone. It influenced its deadly capabilities during the war in countries like Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. It has features such as long distance missiles, modern sensors, radars and high mobility. India has a deal of six Apache attack helicopters from the US, out of which three are going to meet this month (in July).
India decided to buy six AH-64E helicopters with the US in 2020 as part of a $ 600 million deal. These helicopters were to be deployed in Jodhpur from March 2024, but their delivery was delayed. According to the information received, three of these attack helicopters are likely to be delivered in this month and the rest in November 2025.
What is the specialty of Apache attack helicopter?
Apache 64 is a twin-turboshaf, a four-blade helicopter with a sensor, which makes the attack on the target easier. The laser, infrared and other systems of the helicopter have been made possible by replacing targets, tracking and attack. It also has a 70 mm rocket, laser-guided priced halfire missile and an automatic cannon of 30 mm that can fire up to 1,200 rounds of high-explosive, double-purpose ammunition.
South Korea is considering the deal again
America’s special ally South Korea had a deal for 36 Apache helicopters, but now he is considering it again. In fact, according to a report in 2023, the South Korean Defense Ministry accepted the Apache helicopters not being used in the modern war. The report also said that the idea has been made inside the army that perhaps they do not need all 36 units. The Ukraine-Russian war has also made it clear that large-sized helicopters, especially by becoming fixed targets, become easy victims for drone attacks.
