Pave the way for OBC reservation in Supreme Court Staff Recruitment
There are major changes in the Supreme Court under the leadership of Chief Justice BR Gavai. Recently, the Supreme Court issued a reservation roster for the Scheduled Castes/Tribe (SC/ST) category. After the implementation of this system from 23 June 2025, the Supreme Court was reserved in direct recruitment of staff and 15 percent for Scheduled Castes and 7.5 percent for Scheduled Tribes. The Supreme Court implemented the circular issued by the central government on 2 July 1997 after 28 years. Now the way for reservation of the rest of the class has also been cleared.
Gazette notification released on 3 July
Through the Gazette notification issued on July 3, the Supreme Court Officer and Servant (Service Terms and Conduct) Rules, 1961 have been changed. The Chief Justice of India has made this amendment using the power gained under Article 146 (2) of the Constitution. It states that the rules of the Central Government are also being implemented in the Supreme Court regarding the reservation of SC, ST, OBC, Divyang, ex -servicemen and freedom fighter dependents. & Nbsp;
