Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao Blames Congress for Adding Secular and Socialist Word in Constitution

Telangana BJP President Ramchandar Rao: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana unit president N. Ramchandra Rao has targeted the Congress for adding secular and socialist words in the Constitution. BJP President Ramchandra Rao said on Saturday (July 5, 2025) that the words secular and socialist in the Constitution were not in the beginning. It was later amended and added.

He said, “When the constitution of the country was formed, it was not secular and socialist words. Both these words were added by the Congress under the 42nd Amendment. This amendment was brought during the Emergency.”

Questions raised on adding both words in the constitution

The Telangana BJP president said, “Emergency was a day of democratic history of our country. So there were no words in the original constitution. Who told him to add these two words? However, the Janata Party came to power even after adding these two words to the Constitution. Atal Bihari Vajpayee came to power as Prime Minister and now we have tried to change these words?

Congress is trying to mislead the country

He said, “There is no attempt to make any changes in the Constitution under the BJP’s rule. It is just the Congress party which is trying to mislead the country. Apart from this, the Congress is constantly saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will change the constitution.”

Congress has no issue – Rao

The BJP president said, “The Congress is frustrated because it is losing elections continuously in the country. AICC has now become ‘All India Cheating Congress’. They have no other issue except to make false allegations and lies on the BJP.”
