In Bihar’s capital Patna, the police has got a big success for businessman Gopal Khemka murder case. According to sources, a shooter named Umesh has been arrested from Patna city, who is said to be one of the main accused involved in this sensational murder. However, it has not been officially confirmed yet, but the police can make a big disclosure in this case on Tuesday.
This high profile murder case has shocked the entire country including Bihar. Gopal Khemka was shot dead by bike riding miscreants near her house in Gandhi Maidan area late on Friday. As soon as he returned from the Bankipur club, he was fired on his car. After being shot, Khemka was taken to his family to a hospital, but by then he had died.
This incident is also shocking because Gopal Khemka’s son was also shot in the year 2018. That case was related to land dispute in Hajipur. Now the father has also been shot and killed. According to the information, Gopal Khemka was earlier got security, but was removed in April 2024. After this, he did not make any request again for security.
After this incident, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called an emergency meeting to review the law and order. CM directed to constitute SIT. He clearly said that the rule of law is the top priority of the NDA government. No negligence of any kind will be tolerated. DGP Vinay Kumar said that the investigation has been intensified under the supervision of police officials.
He said that a bullet and a cartridge have been recovered from the spot. Some important clues have been found on the basis of technical and scientific evidence. The family accused the police of arriving late, but the DGP rejected it. He said that after firing, the family took him to the hospital in Kankarbagh, which took about 30-35 minutes.
Police received information from the hospital itself, after which senior officials reached the spot at 12:40 pm. The possibility of involvement of an organized gang in the murder conspiracy has not been ruled out. The police conducted a search operation in Beur Jail in Patna. During this time, three mobile phones, a data cable and a paper full of mobile numbers were recovered.
The police have also questioned some inmates in the jail. After this incident, politics also got hot. Union Minister Chirag Paswan called it extremely condemnable. He raised the question of how such an incident can happen at a distance of a few meters from Gandhi Maidan police station.
