First know about Ujjain’s ropeway project … A 1.7 km long ropeway is being prepared from the railway station to Mahakal temple in Ujjain. A total of three stations are being built on this route. From these stations, passengers will be able to visit through the ropeway. A total of 55 Gondole (cabins) will be run on a 1.7 km route. The ropeway will operate 16 hours per day. How much cost and from which technology is being prepared? answer- Monocable detecble Gondola technology is being installed in Ujjain. Its total cost is around 200 crores. Austrian technology is being provided for this. Construction work has started. By the end of next year, this project will be fully prepared.
What is the challenge coming in Ujjain? answer: The biggest advantage of the ropeway is that there is no need to remove anything to apply it. It can be easily planted between two towers in a distance of 500 to 600 meters. Its specialty is that it can also pass over the houses, so construction is possible without disturbing someone while working. The highest tower in Ujjain is being built 55 meters.
Where is the plan of ropeway going on in Madhya Pradesh? answer: See, people usually feel that the ropeway is used only on the mountains, but many countries of the world are also using ropeway as Urban City Transport. If you see in Madhya Pradesh, where the metro is installed. There can be a better option for Last Mile connectivity, so that people can easily reach the metro.
In cities like Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Gwalior, where the population is more than 1 million, such facility is needed for urban transport.
What measures will be taken to ensure that there is no accident in Ujjain ropeway? answer: The ropeway being installed in Ujjain is based on European standards. The government has added several important conditions to the tender, giving priority to public safety. The doppelmeer company guarantees that if any type of problem occurs, our Gondola will safely reach the station.
You must have seen that in other systems, passengers are extracted from a helicopter or fire brigade at the time of emergency, but there is little possibility of such a situation in the system of Doppelmeer.
Is the ropeway successful as Urban Transport? answer: A 15 km long ropeway is being planned in Shimla in India. South America has 30 km long ropeway in Mexico and 20 km long ropeway. Its plan is also underway in many cities of India. Ropeway is being successfully used as urban transport in big cities like London, Paris and New York.
What is the benefit of ropeway in urban transport? answer: The biggest advantage of the ropeway is that compared to this, more space is required for metro or other transport systems. Many cities of our country have developed in such a way that they were the first small centers, which spread gradually.
In the old cities you will see that the roads there are very narrow. If you want to bring urban transport in such cities, ropeway is the best option. There is neither sabotage nor land acquisition is required.
Only towers are to be installed for the ropeway and its stations can also be elevated. The second big advantage is that its construction timing is very low.
How can Ropeway, Last Mile be helpful in connectivity? answer: Take Indore as an example. Metro is going on here. People either use their private vehicles to reach the metro station or someone comes to leave them. That is, to reach the metro, some last mile connection is required.
Traffic jam also becomes a major problem in reaching the metro. In such a situation, there should be a concrete solution for smooth connectivity to the last mile. In this situation, ropeway can prove to be a great option. Passengers can reach the metro station directly without any traffic problem by riding from the ropeway station near their house.
This project will be fully prepared by December 2026.
What is the safe system in terms of ropeway public safety? answer: The ropeway has been successfully working in European countries for about 150 years. Its standard has been developed in Europe. All the urban ropeways around the world have been installed according to European standards.
In terms of public safety, it has now become many modern improvements, making this system more reliable and safe.
How many passengers can ropeway take in an hour? answer: The ropeway is capable of carrying around 8,000 passengers per hour in one direction. With a motor you can run ropeway from 6 to 8 kilometers. If the distance is more than this, it can be extended further by adding additional motors.
