Pew Research Center Report on Religious Population: The Muslim community has emerged as the fastest growing religious group in the world, while the global population of Christianity has seen a decline. These figures have been released in a recent report by Pew Research Center.
It has been said in this report that in the next 25 years, India will be a country where the most Muslims in the world will be. According to the report, the Muslim population increased by 34.7 crores. This increase is even more than that increase of all religions.
The share of Muslims increased globally from 23.9 percent in 2010 to 25.6 percent in 2020. Poo’s senior demographic specialist Hackett said that the birth rate of children among Muslims is higher than the mortality rate.
What is the status of Hindus?
According to the report, the Hindu population increased by 12 percent between 2010 and 2020, which is almost equal to global population growth. The number of Hindus in 2020 was 1.2 billion, which is 14.9 percent of the global population. The Hindu population in India declined from 80 percent to 79 percent in 2020 in 2010, while the Muslim population increased from 14.3 percent to 15.2 percent. Atheists increased in Christianity
The number of Christians in the world increased from 2.18 billion to 2.30 billion, but the global stake declined from 30.6 percent to 28.8 percent. This deficiency is mainly due to leaving religion, especially in Europe, North America and Australia. The number of atheists has increased by 27 crores to 1.9 billion, which is 24.2 percent of the global population. This group is the second fastest growing group after Muslims. Only 78.3 percent of athest population in China lives.
Why is Muslim population increasing?
The rapid population growth in the Muslim community is their average youth population and high fertility rate. In 2010, the age of 35 percent of the total Muslims of the world was under 15 years. This was the highest compared to any other religious group. Based on the data of 2015-2020, a Muslim woman produces 2.9 children on an average, while for a non-Muslim woman, this figure is 2.2 percent. Apart from this, one third of the Muslim population is under 15 years of age, which increases the chances of future increase.
