Us immigration rules – ‘The issuance of visa does not mean stopping investigation’, US warns to break the rules – Screening does not end at approval us to depart visa holders who break rules ntc

The US Embassy in India on Saturday warned that visa holders violating US laws or immigration rules would have to face deportation. This indicates not to relax the strict immigration provisions recently implemented under the Donald Trump administration. The US Embassy said in a statement posted on the social media platform X, “The US visa investigation does not stop after the visa is released. We constantly check for visa holders to ensure that they are following all American laws and immigration rules- and if they do not do so we will cancel their visa and send them to their original country.

This warning came a few days after the Embassy has given advice to the applicants of F, M, and J Non-Immigrant Visa- to public the social media account for investigation by the immigration officers. Such American visas are usually issued to students and exchange visitors. The embassy also warned that visas can be rejected by the applicants by giving incorrect information about their social media activity or hiding any information and even permanently disqualified permanently. In a statement issued last month, the US embassy said that the US visa is ‘a privilege, no right’ and reminded the applicants that the decision to release the visa is a case related to ‘national security’.

Since 2019, American visa applicants have been made mandatory to provide identification for all social media platforms used in the last 5 years. The embassy said that this investigation is necessary to establish the identity and acceptance of a person under the US law. America is also going to implement a new $ 250 ‘Visa Integrity Fee’ for all non-immigrant visa category. It is like a security deposit and can be returned by applicants on completion of certain criteria, which will be applicable from 2026. The Trump administration has tightened visa rules to curb illegal immigration.

Earlier, the US embassy had said that those who illegally enter America will have to face jail and exile. It was also warned that those who violate immigration laws can be detained, sent out of the country, and can be prevented from applying visa in future. Amid a tough investigation regarding the US immigration policy, the India Embassy has released a series of digital posters and advisory on its social media handles in recent weeks.
