ED’s big action on ramprastha developers, assets worth 681 crore attached, more than 2000 people do not get flats

Gurugram ED zonal team has ramprastha promoters & developers Pvt. Ltd. And its group companies have attached a property worth Rs 681.54 crore. This action has been taken in the case of money laundering. It is alleged that the company cheated thousands of home buyers and cheated them in giving them flats and plots.

The property attached by the ED includes two colonies of about 226 acres in Sector 37D, 92 and 95 of Gurugram. Apart from this, about 1700 acres of land has also been attached, which are in Basai, Garholi Kalan, Hayatpur and Vajirpur in Gurugram.

Through these projects cheated money from people

The ED found in its investigation that Ramprastha Developers launched several projects between 2008 and 2011, including Project Edge, Project Skyz, Project Rise and Ramprastha City. For these projects, the company had deposited about Rs 1100 crore from more than 2000 people, but till date neither flats have been given nor the possession of the plot.

Money is replaced here instead of flat construction

The investigation also revealed that the company’s promoters Arvind Walia, Balwant Chaudhary Singh and Sandeep Yadav transferred the money received from home buyers to other group companies. This money was invested in purchasing land or in other works, while it was to be used to make flats.

In this case, Economic Offense Wing of Delhi and Haryana Police had registered several FIRs. On the basis of these complaints, the ED registered a case of money laundering and started investigation. ED investigation is still going on and further revelations may occur.
