Mahabharata Katha: Why did his mother give the curse of being consumed in the fire, how did Garuda become the vehicle of Lord Vishnu?

Considering the story of Mahabharata as just the story of a great war is to limit its heart. In fact, the 18-day war is just a famous and famous part of this great saga, not the whole Mahabharata, but the whole heart of this book is how small mistakes of our conduct, our ego, our sins in unknowingly and unknowingly causes destruction. It is not just a matter of one generation, a century or an era, a person tied in the bondage of karma enjoys its fruit for ages. This story also tells that man is the only creature who can become a god and a demon by his own deeds, but the last option is in his own hands. He is dependent on its own deeds.

When the sage Ugrashrava started narrating the story of Mahabharata in the midst of the sages in the Naimisharanya pilgrimage, the sages came in curiosity and asked him many questions. While answering these questions, the narrator Ugrashrava Sauti informed him about all the events in order. Explained the reason for the mourning of Janmejaya. Explained the reason for the serpent, how the snakes were born and how did the huge horse born from the ocean churning told the whole story. Then he spoke about another secret.

Sutanandan Ugrashravaji said that the same high -sighted horse became the reason for the curse of the snakes, due to which he had to be consumed in the snake yagya of Janmejaya. Then the sages questioned him, O Ugrashrava ji, who cursed the snakes and how did a divine horse like high -like curse become?

Ugrashrava ji said- Rishis, I told you about the two wives of Kashyap Rishi, Kadru and Vinata. Kadru received the boon of 1000 serpent sons from the sage. Vinata asked for two Shilawan and Balishtha sons. When the time came, 1000 snakes were born from the womb of Kadru, but both the eggs of Vinata remained the same. Vinata then burst an egg in curiosity. An underdeveloped infant came out of it, whose upper part was strong, but the legs could not be fully formed. He grew up as soon as the baby was born and cursed Vinata flying in the sky, ‘You will become the maid of the same Sautan’ in the Sahtiya Dah in which you have forced me to be born untimely ‘. Then the baby said that ‘to wait for the next egg to burst, because this son will liberate you from the curse of the maid.’ When the time came, Bhediraj Garun was born from Vinata’s second womb. The first baby is called Arun, which is the chariot of the chariot of Suryadev.

Many days passed this matter. One day at the evening, both sisters were walking Kadru and Vinata. At the same time, a high -high horse was seen in the sky. Kadru asked Vinata, is the color of Indra’s horses highly black or white? Vinata said, it is white, but Kadru is adamant and said- this horse is definitely white, but look carefully. Its tail is black. Vinata said- no, it is not so. This horse is a complete auspicious (i.e. white) like the moon of the full moon.

To decide this, Kadru said- Come on, let’s look at, but he put the condition that he who loses will have to live as a maid. Now the two sisters spent the night in the matter of seeing the color of the tail of Indra’s horses Udhaishrava. On the other hand, to win the condition, Kadru called his 1000 serpent sons and said to them, you go before morning and cling to the tail of the highsrava, so that she looks black and I will win the condition.

The snake, who was not already respecting anyone in his ego, did not listen to the mother and refused Kadru. Then Kadru, who came in anger, did not know in what thinking you all have to be consumed in the fire. On the other hand, when Brahmadev heard this curse, he was amazed, then bowed to the Kalachakra and said that it was right. Anyway, the snakes were beginning to be very produced in the arrogance of their force and then in the future their number will also increase so much that it will give pain to others without any reason. In such a situation, it was right, anyway, those who do not listen to the mother are consumed.

Now, after cursing the mother in this way, all the snakes held a meeting among themselves and said- We annoyed the mother, that is why she cursed it. Let us wrapped in the tail of the high -handed horse to please them and make it black, so that the horse’s tail looks black from a distance. If the mother wins the condition, then she may take back the curse given to us. In this way, the snakes supported the mother’s deceit and a snake named Karkotak went into the horse’s tail and made her black.

The next day Kadru showed Vinata. This horse is white, but its tail is black. As per the condition, Vinata lost and had to live in Kadru’s slavery. Garuda also had to serve all those snakes with his mother. He used to sit on his strong back and make him travel to exciting islands. One day Garuda asked his mother that ‘Mother, your son is so strong, yet you have to live in the slavery of all of them. On this, mother Vinata told the fraudulent behavior of Kadru’s behavior. Hearing this, Garuda asked his mother a solution to be free from that slavery. On this, Vinata said that you will know this from them.

Garun met Nagmata Kadru one day after taking orders from his mother and also talked to snakes. He asked- ‘What should I bring you? So that me and my mother get rid of your slavery? ‘ Hearing this about Garuda, the snakes said, ‘Garuda! If you bring the nectar for us, then your mother will be free from maid.

Hearing this, Garun reached his father Rishi Kashyap and asked him the address of nectar. Rishi Kashyap said that Amrit is located in heaven among Amrit Sarovar. The gods protect it themselves. Hearing this, Garuda reached near Amrit Sarovar, while protecting the nectar, he was surprised to see the cycle of Mahakaya Devas and Amrit Kalash. He thought that this Dev and Chakra Devraj Indra are engaged for the protection of Amrit Kalash. My wings can be cut in the cycle. Therefore, I will take a very small form and enter the middle of it.

Seeing Garuda, a god attacked him, but Garun injured him and defeated him. After this, Garuda pressed into the Amrit Kalash Panjo and flew back. Here, hearing this, Indra took out the thunderbolt with a contingent of his Dev Sena and went out in search of Garuda. Flying on the Akash Marg, he soon saw Garuda and drove his thunderbolt. Indra’s Vajra had no effect on Garuda, but Garuda dropped only one feather from his dan in honor of Indra’s Vajra. Garuda got the name Suparna by falling a wing.

On the other hand, Lord Vishnu saw that Garuda had won the nectar, but even after getting many opportunities, he has not drink it and there is no greed to drink nectar in it. Seeing this, he appeared in front of Garuda and said- Garuda, I am happy with you, you are not greedy. Even after the opportunity, you did not drink nectar. I want to give you a bride- demands.

While narrating the story, Ugrashravaji said- Seeing Lord Vishnu in front, Garuda bowed to him and asked for a boon, first I should be involved in your every symbol. Stay in your flag. Become a guards of your places and second that you give me the immortality for the gods without nectar, so that I can serve you by being immortal. Lord Vishnu said–athra. This will happen. Since getting these boon, Garun is all the signs of Lord Vishnu, the flag, the guardian of the residence etc.

Now Garuda said- I also want to give you a bride. You also ask me. People may feel here how the devotee is giving a boon to God? Actually, this is the quality of Sanatan, neither the devotee nor God is here. The feeling of both is big. The boon that Garuda talked about, actually he got the boon. Lord Vishnu said- You become my vehicle. Garuda gladly accepted this. Now he also came to be known by the name Vishnu vehicle. In this way Garuda has three names. Vinata’s son- Vanteya, Suparna and Vishnu vehicles.

On the other hand, seeing all this, Indra started thinking- ‘This is great mighty. My thunderbolt did not affect this at all. Whereas with the attack of my thunderbolt, the powder of break to the mountain is formed. Such a mighty should be controlled by friendship, not with enmity and Lord Vishnu has also been pleased with it. Thinking this, Indra said to Garuda- ‘Birds! I am very impressed by your valor. Hand to this nectar urn to me and ask for whatever bride you want to ask. Garuda said- ‘I am taking this nectar, not for myself, to free my mother from slavery to Nag Mata.

So I will not give you this urn. Indra said- ‘Okay, at this time you take the urn and hand over it to Nag Mata, but do not let it use it. Seeing the appropriate opportunity, I will disappear from there. Garuda said, ‘If I accept your point, what will I get in return?’ Indra said- ‘Your favorite food. Then I will allow you to eat these snakes. Hearing this, Garuda took Amrit Kalash and reached Kadru and placed it on Kush’s seat. After this he said- ‘Mother! I have brought Amrit Kalash according to my affidavit. Now you free my mother from slavery with your promise.

At that moment, Kadru freed Vinata from the promise and the next morning the nectar went away from there to feed the serpents. Seeing the appropriate opportunity at night, Indra picked up the Amrit Kalash and took him back to heaven. On the second day, when Nag reached there in the morning, he was sad to see the Amrit Kalash missing. He started licking that Kush posture that his tongue broke into two parts. Since then the tongue of snakes appears divided into two parts. On the other hand, as soon as Garuda went to the service of Lord Vishnu, the gods became fear -free.

After narrating this story, Ugrashrava ji said to the sages- Rishigan! That is why mother’s blessings are considered the greatest. The boon and curse, creation and destruction swing in his lap. The serpents found the curse of their mother to be consumed in the fire and when the time came, they had to be consumed in the Nag Yagya of Janmejaya.
