The first Monday of the month of Sawan is today, due to which the administration in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi has made preparations for comprehensive security and law and order. In view of the huge crowd of devotees and the Kandar Yatra, the police administration has increased vigil in all sensitive areas.

Additional police forces have been deployed on Haridwar, Rishikesh and Kanwar routes in Uttarakhand. Route diversion has been implemented for monitoring from drone, help of CCTV and traffic control. Special vigilance is being taken in Western districts including Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. Special arrangements have been made in the major Shiva temples in Delhi such as Kalkaji, ancient Katyayani Temple, Gauri Shankar Temple, and Jhandewala Temple.

Due to the first Monday of Sawan, lakhs of devotees will worship Bholenath and flock to the temples for Jalabhishek. The goal of the administration is to ensure their safety along with the faith of the devotees.

Special arrangements have been made in Shiva temples. Crowd control is being done by placing barriers on the entrances of temples. Proper arrangement of food and water has been ensured inside the temples. All the devotees have been urged to follow the rules and celebrate the historical rituals in a peaceful and revered manner.

Special arrangement of Ghaziabad Police for Kanwari

Ghaziabad police of UP have made special arrangements for Kanwar passengers. When the kavad is broken, the Kanwadis should not make a ruckus and they have got Ganga water in the police station for the blocks to get the Ganga water back. Ghaziabad police has brought 1400 liters of Ganga water from Haridwar. These 20-20 liters of Ganga water have been kept in every police station at least 4 to 5. Apart from this, Kanwar has also been arranged.

Special arrangements regarding Kavad Yatra in Haridwar

The floor of the devotees of Bhole, carrying Kavad from every corner of the country, has the same floor – Haridwar. This is the last stop of this Kanwar Yatra. And when all the devotees are reaching here from all over the country, the preparation of this city of faith has also become grand. There is no shortage in terms of security. The entire Kavad Mela area in Haridwar is divided into 16 super zones. 38 zones and 134 sectors have been built to make the fair safe and organized. The entire fair area will be monitored with more than 347 CCTV cameras and 8 drones. In view of the sensitivity of the Kandar fair, 2 ATS teams will also be deployed, 8 company CPAF and 9 company PACs will be installed with the necessary police force. Along with this, 1500 Civil Police Force will also be posted in the fair area. Apart from these arrangements, water, toilet, street lighting will be provided for Kanwari.

Security arrangements for Kavad Yatra in UP

In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is keeping an eye on the Kandar Yatra. In 4 districts of Meerut range, 15 thousand policemen have been on duty. Security is being ensured by making 57 zones and 155 sectors in Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat and Hapur. In the Meerut range, 5000 cameras are being monitored to protect the Kandar Yatra. Around 3500 policemen are being deployed in Ghaziabad, real time will be monitored with 1500 CCTV cameras. 700 traffic policemen are being deployed on all the major Kavad routes of Ghaziabad.

People from all over the country are taking part in the grand Kawad Yatra. This time in UP, more than 5 crore devotees can join this journey. In the last 3 years too, a large number of devotees reached the city of Bhole with kavad.

In the year 2022, about 3.8 crore kanwadi took part in the yatra. At the same time, in the year 2023, 3 crore kanwadis attended and in the year 2024, about 4 crore 80 lakh kanwadis traveled to Kavad. At the same time, the Yogi government is estimating more than 5 crore devotees to join.

Therefore, complete arrangements have been made on the journey route for the Kanwari. From the safety of Kanwari to their food and rest in UP, there is a round of meetings. A total of 838 relaxation camps have been prepared on the Kanwar Yatra route, 464 in Meerut, 176 in Bulandshahr, 90 in Baghpat and Hapur 108 camps have been arranged. In which 15 thousand policemen are deployed in Meerut range.

The administration is fully ready to make the Kandar Yatra successful this time. All the system has been completed. All the routes have been scanned.

Meerut district administration has banned meat, fish and eggs in hotels, dhabas and restaurants on Kawad Marg.

What is the importance of the first Monday of Sawan?

The month of Sawan is considered very sacred in Hinduism. This month is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Especially the first Monday of Sawan is very important. On this day, crores of people worship Lord Shiva.

This day is called “Sawan Monday”. People believe that all wishes are fulfilled by fasting on this day and worshiping Shiva with true heart. There is happiness, peace and prosperity in life.
