Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed displeasure over the mistake of social media company Meta. The translation feature of Meta told the wrong news of Siddaramaiah’s death. In fact, on July 15, Siddaramaiah shared a post to express grief over the death of actress B Sarojadevi, which was written in Kannada language. There was an option of English translation on the post itself, which came to click that the Chief Minister of Karnataka has passed away.
A letter has been sent from Siddaramaiah’s office, in which resentment has been expressed about the wrong translation of the post. He told Meta through the letter that the Kannada auto-translation feature should be closed until it presents the facts correctly.

In view of the Meta’s mistake, a letter was sent from the Chief Minister’s Office on 16 July, in which Chief Minister’s Media Advisor KV Prabhakar wrote, ,It is very worrying that auto from Kannada to English Translation is often wrong. It is quite misleading in some cases., He wrote that such mistakes create confusion, in such a situation, especially when an important message of the Chief Minister or the government has been shared. However, after this, the social media company improved its mistake.
