Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has suspended four of its employees with immediate effect. They are alleged that they were allegedly following Christianity despite working in a Hindu religious institution, which was considered a violation of the institutional code of conduct of the trust.
The TTD administration said that this action has been taken after vigilance report and internal investigation. The trust says that the employees who have been suspended failed to follow the expected religious conduct while working in a Hindu religious institution.
These four employees suspension
1. B. Elezer- Deputy Executive Engineer (Quality Control)
2. S. Rosie- Staff Nurse, Bird Hospital
3. M. Premavati- Grade-1 Pharmacist, Bird Hospital
4. Dr. G. Asunta- SV Ayurvedic Pharmacy
According to TTD, the information related to these employees following Christianity came to light through the Vigilance Department’s report and other documents. After this, all were suspended by taking disciplinary action as per rules.
Strict steps to maintain the credibility of the institution
TTD clarified that employees working in a Hindu religious institution are expected to conduct according to the traditions and values of the institution. This decision has been taken to maintain the same discipline and credibility.
