The organizers of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) have canceled the match between India and Pakistan after Indian cricketers refused to play with Pakistan. The organizers have apologized for hurting people’s feelings. The match was to be played in Birmingham on 20 July.
Indian players Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan refused to play in the match.
The WCL said in its statement that they had recently announced the match after the volleyball match between India and Pakistan to make a happy moments for fans. But this hurt many people’s feelings and uncomfortable Indian legends. Due to this, it was decided to cancel the match.
There is a tension between Indo-Pak after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. It has also affected the sports of both countries.

The company said that despite a five -year sponsoring agreement with WCL two years ago, they would not join any match related to Pakistan. Easmyatrip said that they support the Indian champions, but would not support or promote any match of Pakistan. The company wrote on X, ‘Our situation has always been clear. We are with the Indian champions, but will not participate in any matches related to Pakistan. India first, always.
World Championship of Legends has started from 18 July The World Championships of Legends 2025, from July 18 to August 2, will be held in Birmingham, Northampton, Lecester and Leeds. The tournament is being organized with the approval of England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
