The Karnataka government has formed a special investigation team (SIT) in the Dharmasthal temple in the case of rape-killing of women and girls. The investigation team consists of IPS officers Dr. Punav Mohanty, MN Anuchet, Soumeter and Jitendra Kumar Dayam.
In the order issued by the Karnataka government on Sunday, the SIT will also investigate other matters related to it in this case. The Siddaramaiah government has taken this decision on the recommendation of the Women’s Commission.
Actually, some people associated with the Dharmasthal temple administration were facing serious allegations. A Dalit scavenger who worked in the temple claimed that he forced him to burn and bury the corpses of many women and girls.
These women were raped and murdered. After this revelation, a case was registered at Dharmasthal police station on 3 July.
The sweeper worked in the temple between 1998 and 2014
According to the report of the New Indian Express, the former scavenger says he used to work in the temple between 1998 and 2014. He has handed over the evidence of photographs and the remains buried to the police.
He said- I am coming forward now because the feeling of regrets and justice to the victims is not letting me live peacefully. I am ready to take the police to all the places where the bodies were buried.
The scavenger said- Supervisor quietly asked to settle the corpses
The scavenger said that in 1998, his supervisor first said to settle these corpses quietly. When he refused, he was brutally beaten and threatened to kill the family.
According to him, in 2010, a 12–15 -year -old school girl’s body was found in her school uniform, but the skirt and undergarment were missing. There were marks of rape and strangulation on the body. He was asked to bury with a school bag. In another case, the face of a 20 -year -old woman’s body was burnt with acid, she was wrapped in a newspaper.

The scavenger said that in 2014, he also had sexual harassment with a minor relative, after which he ran away from the Dharmasthal along with the family and residing in another state with anonymous identity.
He told that the accused are very influential people associated with the Dharmasthal temple administration, who end the protesters. He is now ready for a polygraph test or any scientific investigation so that the truth can be revealed.
Lawyer said- Complaint and evidence to Supreme Court lawyer
Advocate Ojasvi Gowda and Sachin Deshpande, advocating the case, said that the name of the accused has not been revealed yet, but the Supreme Court lawyer KV Dhananjay has been handed over complaints and evidence so that the truth cannot hide the truth if anything happens to the complainant.
