UP: Grandmother’s death due to snake bite, painful accident occurred at the same cot

A painful incident has come to light from Shukla Chhapra village in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh, where a 65 -year -old woman and her 6 -year -old grandson died of snake bite on Saturday night. The deceased have been identified as Phoolpatti Devi and her grandson Kanha. Police reached the information and took the body in possession and sent it for postmortem.

Actually, the incident took place late on Saturday, when grandmother and granddaughter were sleeping on the same cot after eating dinner. Then in the dark of night, a poisonous snake climbed on their bed and stung both. When the family woke up in the morning, they found the condition of both of them serious, after which they were rushed to the district hospital.

Doctors started treatment in the hospital, but by then it was too late. Both of them died during treatment. After this incident, there was chaos in the whole family and a wave of mourning ran in the village too. Dr. Sujit Kumar Yadav, Chief Medical Superintendent of Ballia District Hospital, informed that the information was given to the police on behalf of the Health Department, after which both the bodies have been captured for post -mortem.

Significantly, during the rainy season, the incidence of snakes in rural areas increases. The Health Department has appealed to the people to check the bed before sleeping in the rain and maintain cleanliness around the house. This incident is not only a family tragedy, but also puts a serious picture of the deaths due to snake bite in rural areas.
