The press release released on Sunday by the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the World Test Championship (WTC) final will now be held in England till 2031. Honoring this prestigious event has been doing the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) since its inception, and now this trend will continue for the upcoming three editions – 2027, 2029 and 2031.

The ICC said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the successful hosting of the last three editions of ECB and the logistics of the event in the early summer season of England. The WTC finals so far have been played on three different grounds in England:

-Suthampton (2021)
-D Oval (2023)
– Lords (2025)

The ICC press release said, the board has confirmed the right to host the ICC World Test Championship Final for 2027, 2029 and 2031 editions to the England and Wales Cricket Board, this decision has been taken in view of the recent successful events. However, earlier it was reported that the Cricket Board of India (BCCI) was keen to bring the hosting of this final to India, but it does not seem to happen at the moment.
