Justice yashwant varma impeachment: In the Rajya Sabha, notice of impeachment motion against Justice Yashwant Verma has been given. Congress MP and whip Nasir Hussain gave this information. This proposal has been signed by more than 60 Rajya Sabha MPs. Earlier, 145 members of the Lok Sabha submitted a memorandum to the Lok Sabha Speaker. It demanded the removal of Justice Verma from the post.
MPs of many parties expressed support
Under Article 124, Article 217 and 218 of the Constitution, MPs of several parties including Congress, Telugu Desam Party, Janata Dal United, Janata Dal Secular, Janasena Party, Assam Gan Parishad, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), Lok Janshakti Party and Indian Communist Party-M signed a memorandum related to impelies. The names of several senior leaders like Anurag Thakur, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Rahul Gandhi, Rajiv Pratap Rudi, PP Chaudhary, Supriya Sule and KC Venugopal are also among the signatures.
Burned notes were received on March 15
Justice Yashwant Verma’s government residence in Delhi is accused of getting a huge amount of cash notes on 15 March 2025. The matter became serious after this allegation surfaced. Now Parliament will investigate this matter. As part of the impeachment process, the investigation of the allegations will be started and it will be decided whether action should be taken to remove Justice Verma from the post.
Necessary support to present impeachment motion in Lok Sabha
Earlier, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju had informed on Sunday that more than 100 MPs have signed the impeachment motion related to the removal of Justice Yashwant Verma in Parliament. Thus, necessary support has been received to present the proposal in the Lok Sabha. After the all -party meeting in Delhi on Sunday, Rijiju said, “The signature process is still going on, and more than 100 MPs have already signed it.” He also informed that when the impeachment motion will be introduced in Parliament, the work was held by the work advisory committee (BAC).
