F-7 BGI fighter jet of Air Force collapsed at Milestone School and College on Monday (21, July 2025) in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka, killing 16 students, 3 teachers and pilots. In the video, the students, teachers and parents, who were frightened between screams and flames, were seen running. In a video, the body of a student was stained with blood, while a policeman appeared running towards the rubble.

Accident occurred during exam
When this accident happened in Milestone School and College, the students were either taking the exam or in regular classes. The Bangladesh Air Force said that China-made F-7 BGI fighter Jet flew at 1:06 pm and fell into the fire after falling with a sharp explosion.

More than 100 injured, many serious
According to the statement issued by the Dhaka administration, more than 100 people have been injured, out of which 83 are treated in various hospitals. The condition of many is said to be critical. The injured have been admitted to several medical institutions including Army Hospital.

The head of the interim government expressed mourning
Mohammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, posted on X and expressed deep condolences on the accident. He wrote, ‘This is a moment of extreme pain for the country. The damage to airforce, students, teachers and families is irreparable.

The country’s most frightening accident
The government has declared National Mourning Day on Tuesday. This accident is considered to be the most horrific aircraft accident in the recent history of Bangladesh. Earlier in 1984, a plane crashed while coming from Chittagong to Dhaka, in which 49 people died.
