According to the PTI report, UIDAI is soon planning to start biometric updates of children’s Aadhaar Aadhaar Card through schools. Under this, biometric machines will be sent to every district and from here they will be sent from one school to another and this work will be completed in a phased manner. Work will start after 2 months
Work has started by Aadhaar Authority about Aadhaar card update (Aadhaar Update in School) through schools. According to Bhuvanesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India, this work can be started after two months and work is going on on the project to start biometric updates of children in a phased manner. Talking about the update related to this, Kumar said that now we are testing this technology and it will be ready in 45-60 days.
No more than 7 crore child base updates updated
Bhuvanesh Kumar said that the data of children whose Aadhaar card has not yet been updated, their figure is continuously increasing and it has now been more than 7 crores. He further said that Aadhaar Biometric Update is mandatory for all children above 5 years of age and in view of this increasing data, UIDAI has prepared a plan to do this work without delay through schools.
Otherwise the Aadhaar card will be closed
Alert is being issued by UIDAI through social media platform X and it is being told that parents will be possible to make easy access to school admission, entrance examination, scholarship and DBT benefits from compulsory biometric updates. Along with this, the authority instructed that in the event of Aadhaar Biometric Update update of a child older than 7 years on time, its base can be deactivated and he can be deprived of all the benefits.

If you look at the rules related to making Baal Aadhaar, then the Aadhaar card of children up to 0–5 years is made without biometric and this only requires his photo, name, date of birth, address and parents’ documents. At the same time, when the child completes the age of 5 years, it is necessary to update his fingerprint, iris scan and latest photo as the first biometric update.
It has been clarified by UIDAI that the biometric update or MBU process of the Aadhaar of 5-7 year old children is absolutely free, that is, no charge is taken for it. At the same time, if the child is more than 7 years, a fee of Rs 100 has to be paid to get this work done.
