The British Navy fighter aircraft F-35 flew from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in Kerala 38 days later on Tuesday. Jet was unable to fly due to hydraulic failure.

The team of 25 engineers reached India from Britain on 6 July to fix the aircraft. It was on a regular flight over the Arabian Sea under joint maritime practice on the night of 14 June.

Emergency landing had to be done at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in Kerala due to bad weather and low fuel. After the landing, there was a technical fault in the jet, due to which it could not return.

This 918 crore aircraft is part of the UK’s Royal Navy’s HMS Prince of Wales Career Strike Group. It is considered one of the most advanced fighter jets worldwide.

The British fighter jet was standing in the open since 14 June. On July 6, it was shifted to Hangar.

F-35 jet is famous by the name of Lightning The F-35 model is a short tech off/vertical landing (Stovl) variant of the F-35 model fighter jet, known as Lightning in British Services, is designed to operate from short-field base and air capable ships.

F-35B is the fifth generation only fighter jet with a small flight and capacity of vertical landing. Which makes it ideal for operating with small decks, simple bases and ships.

F-35B has been developed by Lockheed Martin Company. This plane was started to be made from 2006. It has been included in the US Air Force since 2015.

It is the most expensive aircraft in the history of Pentagon. The US spends an average of $ 82.5 million (about Rs 715 crore) on an F-35 fighter plane.
