The Indian Army has received a consignment of three (03) Apache Combat Helicopter (AH-64E) from American company Boeing amid controversial statements of US President Donald Trump on Operation Sindoor. These three Apache helicopters arrived at Hindon Airbase (Ghaziabad) in the capital Delhi on the morning of Tuesday (22 July 2025). These Apache helicopters will be posted at the Indian Army’s aviation core in Jodhpur.
All three Apache helicopters from a cargo aircraft have been brought from America to India. These three helicopters have been painted with sandy color, because they will be posted on the Jodhpur base of Rajasthan. For the first time, the Indian Army has received a consignment of Apache helicopter. The Indian Air Force, however, already has 22 Apache helicopters, who have been deployed in Pathankot (Punjab) and Jorhat (Assam). The Indian Army (Army) operates indigenous Rudra attack helicopter. The Indian Army issued a brief statement saying that these State of the Art Platform (helicopter) will increase the operational capacity.
In the year 2020, the Ministry of Defense had signed a deal to buy six (06) Apache helicopters for Army from the US in the year 2020. The total price of this deal was 800 million dollars (about 7000 thousand crores). According to the deal, in the year 2024, the army was supposed to deliver this US attack helicopter, but the deal is going on late for about 15 months. According to the information, delivery of the remaining three helicopters is also expected this year.
