It is noteworthy that on this day in 1975, the United Nations celebrated International Women’s Day for the first time. Since then this day is celebrated every year on 8 March. Referring to the contribution of women in the world, Google in its post wrote That today’s day focuses on issues like gender equality and preventing violence against women.

The Google post also mentions the two initial rallies of Women’s Day. These rallies were taken out in St. Petersburg and New York City. In the rallies, demands were made for fair and safe jobs as well as the right to vote.
