India got the Manchester Test draw after showing the fight in the second innings. Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and KL Rahul together batted 142 overs and converted the team’s defeat into a draw. Rahul was dismissed by 90 runs, the remaining three batters scored centuries.
Team India is still intact in the series due to the fourth Test draw of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. The team can now win the fifth Test and draw the series 2-2. However, if India loses, England will win the series 3–1. England will be named after the series 2–1 even after the last match is drawn.

Reason -1. England did not declare first innings India scored 358 runs in the first innings of the Manchester Test. England batting 157.1 overs on the helpful pitch and conditions for batting and scored 669 runs. The team batting till the first session of the fourth day. Which made India a chance to draw a Test match.
If England had declared the innings after scoring 550 runs, Team India would try to score quickly in the event of confusion. Due to which the result of the match would go out in favor of a team. However, the long batting of England did not give up other options besides playing for a draw near India.
Reason-2. Rahul-Gil’s partnership after 2 wickets After trailing by 311 runs on the fourth day of the match, India lost 2 wickets in zero in the second innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudarshan returned to the pavilion in the first over. From here opener KL Rahul took the innings with captain Shubman Gill.
Rahul and Shubman did not let the wicket fall in the second and third sessions of the fourth day. Rahul was dismissed for 90 runs in the first session on the fifth day. After him, Shubman scored a century, but he also returned to the pavilion after scoring 103 runs. However, both of them partnered 188 runs and made India firmly in the event of a match draw.
Reason-3. Jadeja-Sunder’s century on the fifth day In 87.4 overs, India lost the fourth wicket as Shubman. Here Ravindra Jadeja came to bat, whose first ball Joe Root left the catch in the slip. He took advantage of this life donation and took over India’s innings with Sundar.
Even on the fifth day, India did not lose any wickets in the second and third sessions. Jadeja and Sundar scored 99 runs in the second session and brought the team closer to the lead. Sundar and Jadeja again joined hands for a draw with England captain Ben Stokes. Jadeja was not out after scoring 107 and beautiful 101 runs. Both batting 55.2 overs. Jadeja also took 4 wickets in bowling. However, the player of the match was England captain Ben Stokes, who scored 141 runs and also took 6 wickets in the match.

Before coming with Stokes and McCullum, England’s pitches were helpful for the bowlers. It used to swing the ball here for five days and it was very difficult for the team to bat the last 2 days. However, as long as Stokes and McCullum’s Bazball approach will continue, teams will not have much trouble batting on the fourth and fifth day.
Reason-5. English bowlers fatigue England’s bowlers bowled 114 overs in the first innings. On the fourth day of the second innings, the bowlers looked full of energy in the second session, but everyone’s shoulders got hurried as Gill and Rahul’s partnerships were formed. Team India did not lose wickets in the last 2 sessions on the fourth day. After which England got more bowling from their spinners Liam Dawson and Joe Root, who did not have much help from the pitch.
The fatigue of the English bowlers also appeared clearly on the fifth day. After bowling with energy in the first session, the bowlers’ pace in the last 2 session decreased. Captain Stokes also got most of the over dawson and root in the last session. So that the team’s pace bowlers did not tired much before the next Test. Because the next match will start from 31 July only 3 days later. The tired bowling of English bowlers made the work of Indian batters even easier.
