In Telangana, a case of a 40 -year -old married person marrying a 13 -year -old girl has come to light. The case is from Rangaradi district. The 8th student was married on 28 May.
The case came to light when the girl informed her teacher about this. After this, the teacher informed the Tehsildar and the police of the area. The girl has been sent to Sakhi Center for counseling and safety.

Police said that the girl lived in a rented house with her mother and brother. The girl’s mother told the landlord that she wants to get her daughter married. A few days later, a mediator decided to have a girl’s relationship with Srinivas Gaur, a resident of Kandivadi and got married in May.
The police have registered a case under the Prevention of Child Marriage Act against Srinivas Gaur, his wife, girl’s mother, intermediary and married priest.
Police said that they were together for about two months. If sexual relations have been made with the girl, then a case will be registered against Gaur under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offense (POCSO) Act.
