Six people, including five members of a family, got burnt due to a gas cylinder blast in a house of Radhakrishna Society in Punagam area of Surat. Everyone has been taken to Smeer Hospital for treatment. According to the information received, the condition of three of the injured is critical, one has been admitted to hospital.

Walls and windows were broken due to the blast Investigation revealed that after the gas cylinder leaked in the room at night, a spark caught fire in the cylinder in the morning and it exploded. The walls and windows of the house were broken due to the blast. All 6 people got burnt due to fire in the room and ran out of the house to save their lives. People nearby took everyone to the hospital.
The wall of the house also collapsed due to the blast.
The family lives in a rented room Pappu Gajendra Bhadoria, originally from Rajasthan, lives with his family in Radhakrishna Society located in Punagam area of Surat. The family consists of wife, two daughters and a son. Gajendrabhai supports his family by driving an auto. There are three rooms in a house of Radhakrishna Society, out of which this family lives in one room.
Windows and doors were broken due to the explosion Rahish Dilipbhai of the society told that the sound of explosion was heard at 6:20 in the morning. I live on rent in a room on the other side. Hearing the sound of the explosion, I went outside and saw that there was also a fire there. The family members were groaning outside the room in a burnt condition. Society people called 108 ambulances and everyone was taken to the hospital. We had also informed the police and fire brigade. Dilipbhai further told that the entire contents of the house of this poor family who was victim of the accident has also been reduced to ashes.
As the condition of three is critical, they have been referred to a private hospital.
