Special Operation Group, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and CRPF are carrying out operations in Kulgam.
A terrorist was killed by security forces in Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning. This is the second day of the operation of security forces against terrorists in Akhhal forest of Kulgam. Firing has been going on from both sides since morning.
Special Operation Group, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and CRPF are carrying out operations. Officials said that more security forces have been sent to the area due to the possibility of terrorists being hidden in the forest.
Today’s encounter in Kulgam is part of the operation against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the third encounter of this week. 5 days ago, on July 28, security forces killed 3 militants involved in the Pahalgam attack in Lidwas forests, 22 km from Srinagar.
This operation, which lasted for about 6 hours, was named Operation Mahadev. The terrorists were identified as Suleman alias Asif, Jibran and Hamza alias Faizal Afghani. All three were from Pakistan.
After this, two more terrorists were killed near LOC in Poonch on 31 July. Police said that both had infiltrated from Pakistan. He was stopped as soon as he entered the Indian border. Two assault rifles, one pistol, hand grenade, two IEDs, medicines, communication devices have been recovered from the slain terrorists.
