SDM Rajindra Singh Rana and his son of Ramnagar tehsil died in an accident in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The accident happened when the SDM was returning to his ancestral village straps from Dharmari riding in a bolero along with family members and relatives. The police has given information on Friday (August 1, 2025).
The incident took place on Thursday night in Salukh Ikhtar Nala area. Due to sudden landslide, heavy debris fell on his vehicle. A rescue operation was immediately started with the help of local residents and police and all the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital. After preliminary treatment, the seriously injured have been referred to the district hospital of Reasi.

What did the Medical Superintendent of the District Hospital tell?
Dr. Gopal Dutt, Medical Superintendent of Reasi District Hospital, said that we sent two ambulances on the spot as soon as the incident was received. Six people have been admitted to the hospital. In this incident, we have lost a young officer.

LG Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir has expressed grief over the incident of landslide in Dharmari on Friday. He said that we have lost an excellent officer, JKAS 2011, SDM Ramnagar Rajinder Singh and his son. This tragedy is heartbreaking. I have deep condolences to the bereaved family and I pray that the injured are healthy soon.
Rana Ramnagar, a 2011 batch officer, was posted as SDM. Earlier, two military personnel lost their lives due to a stone falling from the rock on the army vehicle in eastern Ladakh.
