The names of 65 lakh voters are cut off
The Election Commission has released the data for the first phase of the intensive revision campaign (SIR) i.e. Voter Verification in Bihar. According to the draft voters list, the names of 65 lakh 64 thousand voters have been cut in Bihar’s new voter list.
According to the Election Commission, 7 crore 24 lakh 5 thousand 756 people are named in the draft voter list. Earlier this figure was 7 crore 89 lakhs.
In the data released on August 1, the Commission has said, ’22 lakh 34 thousand voters died, 36 lakh 28 thousand voters have permanently shifted to another place. At the same time, the name of 7 lakh one thousand voters was two places. For this reason, the names of these people have been removed.
According to the Election Commission data, the names of 9 lakh 65 thousand voters have been cut in 4 districts of Muslim -majority Seemanchal and Darbhanga. Whereas, the names of 21 lakh 29 thousand voters have been cut in 6 districts of Tirhut, called the strong fort of NDA and 3 i.e. 9 districts of Darbhanga.
At the same time, the names of 16 lakh 57 thousand voters are not in the list in 11 districts of Patna and Magadh Commissionerate, the strong areas of the Grand Alliance.
Most of the names were cut in Patna among Muslim -majority districts
Talking about the districts cut off the names of the most voters, the names of 3 lakh 95 thousand and the lowest 26 thousand voters have been cut in Patna.
Talking about Muslim -dominated areas, 68 percent of the population in Kishanganj is the Muslim community. Katihar has 43 per cent Muslim population, 42 per cent in Araria, 38 per cent in Purnia and 25 per cent in Darbhanga.
If we talk about legislative data, then the names of 49,340 voters in Kishanganj assembly constituency are cut off from the draft list. Whereas, in the lowest Thakurganj Assembly, the names of 29,277 voters have been removed from the draft voter list.
Where the grand alliance strong, the names of 16 and a half million voters were cut
Talking about the strong areas of the Grand Alliance, Patna Commissionerate is at the top of it. There are 43 assembly seats in 6 districts here. According to the 2020 assembly election data, 27 seats are occupied by the Grand Alliance. Whereas, NDA won 16 seats.
According to the Election Commission, the names of 10 lakh 42 thousand 570 voters in Patna Commissionerate are not in the draft list.
At the same time, the names of 6 lakh 15 thousand 362 voters have been cut in 5 districts of Magadh division, the second strong stronghold of the Grand Alliance. Magadha has 26 assembly seats. The grand alliance won 19 seats in the 2020 assembly elections. NDA won 7 seats.
