In a rape case convicted and on Saturday (August 2, 2025), the Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS) suspended leader and former MP Prajwal Revanna appealed for a lower punishment and claimed that he did nothing wrong.
Revanna said that moving rapidly in politics was his only mistake. A special court in Bengaluru will sentence on Saturday (August 2) after convicting him in one of the four cases of sexual exploitation and rape lodged against 34 -year -old Prajwal. When the court convicted sexual exploitation, the judge wept in the court on Saturday, appealing to the judge for less punishment.
What did former JDS MP say to judge in court,
The suspended leader of JD (s) told the court that he had graduated in mechanical engineering and has always passed on merit. The former MP said, “… They say that I have raped many women, but no woman has voluntarily come to complain, she came six days before the election (Lok Sabha elections last year). The prosecution brought them deliberately and lodged a complaint.”
Prajwal said, “The woman (the victim) did not complain to anyone, including her husband or relatives, about the alleged rape. When some videos broadcast, she came and lodged a complaint. I have a family, I have not seen my parents for six months. Please give me less punishment, I request the court.”
The court can sentence former MP today
Prajwal, who was arrested when he came from Germany in May last year, said, “I have made only the mistake in my life that I moved forward rapidly in politics.” At the same time, Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat, a special court of MPs and MLAs, convicted 34 -year -old Prajwal on Friday (August 1, 2025) in one of the four cases of sexual exploitation and rape. The court can sentence the sentence on Saturday (August 2) on this matter.
What is the whole matter related to the covered Revanna,
The case is related to a 48 -year -old woman working as a assistant in the farm house of the Revanna family in Holenarsipura in Hassan district. In 2021, the woman was allegedly raped twice at the farm house and Revanna’s residence in Bangalore. The accused recorded this act in his mobile phone.
