Missing man found after slapping Indigo flight, accused was detained

The video of slapping a passenger went viral during a panic in a flight from Mumbai to Kolkata. After this incident, the victim went missing. After investigation, the person was found at a railway station in Barpeta, Assam. The station is about 800 km from Kolkata, where the aircraft landed and 400 km from Silchar, where it had to go.

32 -year -old Hussain Majumdar from Kachar district of Assam, who was to go to Silchar, boarded an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Kolkata on Thursday. The next day, there were second flights to Silchar from there. When he was sitting on the flight, he felt nervous, then the airhostess was helping him. Meanwhile, a fellow passenger Hafeezul Rahman slapped him.

Accused Rahman was detained in Kolkata

In the video, Rahman can be seen attacking Mazumdar and when he was questioned, he said that he did this because he was getting upset because of him. Rehman was detained and handed over to the police after the flight reached Kolkata, but was later released.

What did the victim’s father Abdul Mannan Majumdar tell?

32 -year -old Mazumdar, who works in a hotel in Mumbai, has taken flying from this route several times before and his family was unaware that something has happened. Those people reached Silchar Airport on Friday to pick up Hussain. His father Abdul Mannan Mazumdar said that after watching the viral video, he tried to contact him, but his mobile phone was closed.

After this, the family lodged a missing complaint and the investigation revealed that Majumdars did not board the flight going to Silchar on Friday and did not even go to Kolkata Airport on Saturday. The police then received information that he was at Barpeta railway station and the police found him there. An official said that he looked unwell and is now being taken home.

Meanwhile, IndiGo, who slapped Rahman, has been banned from flying on any aircraft operated by the airline and said that the safety of our customers and crew is our top priority.
