US President Donald Trump announced a tariff on several countries this week. Trump set new tariffs for Canada, Brazil, India, Taiwan and Switzerland before the time limit of 1 August 2025. Meanwhile, American trade representative Jamison Greer cleaned on Sunday (3 August 2025), there will be no change in whatever tariffs have been imposed.
Tariff rates will not be low- Jeemison Greece
According to the report of American news channel CBS, Jamison Greer said that even though there is talk on the trade deal with many countries, the tariff which has been fixed will remain the same. Trump has imposed 35 per cent tariffs on many goods coming from Canada, 50 per cent for Brazil, 25 per cent for India, 20 per cent for Taiwan and 39 per cent for Switzerland.
US President Trump recently declared the Indian economy as a dead economy along with announcing 25 per cent tariff on India. According to India, talks are still going on on the trail deal and American delegations can visit India this month.
‘Tariff rates have been fixed as per agreements’
Jameson Greer, close to Trump, was asked that the rates of tariffs on 70 countries have increased. Will it be reduced by interacting on tariff rates in the coming days? On this, Jamison Greer said, “No, this will not happen in the coming days. The rates that have been fixed right now have been according to the agreements. Many countries of the country want to talk to me about it. How they can work with America in a different way.”
‘Conversation with China was positive’
Jamison Greer said that in recent times, there was a positive conversation with China about the trade deal. He said, “We have talked to the employee’s level, at my level, President Xi Jinping and President Trump. We are working on some technical issues.”
