A case has been registered against an army officer in the case of assault with SpiceJet employees at Srinagar Airport. In the attack, an employee has a spine fracture. On July 26, a case has been registered against Lieutenant Colonel RK Singh under Section 115 of the Indian Justice (BNS) against Lieutenant Colonel RK Singh for beating the employees in a dispute over payment of additional goods fees.
Posting of army officer in Baramulla
Section 115 of BNS is related to the crime of voluntarily hurting another person. Lieutenant Colonel Singh, currently posted at the Army’s High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) in Gulmarg in Baramulla district, was scheduled to ride in a flight from SpiceJet to Delhi, when the incident happened.
Regarding this, Indian Army officials said that full support is being given to the authorities. They are waiting for the conclusion of pending investigation and the army is fully committed to maintain discipline and mutual respect at all civilian places across the country.
‘Officers are being fully supported in investigation’
Srinagar’s Public Relations Officer (Defense) said in a statement that the army is committed to maintaining the highest standards of discipline and conduct and takes all the allegations seriously. He said that the officials are being given full support in the investigation of the case.
The incident was captured on camera and in a video that went viral on social media, angry military officers are shown beating many airline employees from an iron stand. The airline issued a detailed statement about the incident, stating that one of the four victims of the attack had suffered a spine injury.
Employees spinal cord broke- airline
The airline also said that it has started the process of putting the passenger in the no-fly list according to the civil aviation rules. SpiceJet said in a statement, “On 26 July 2025, a passenger attacked four SpiceJet employees on the boarding gate of Srinagar to Delhi on 26 July 2025. Drinks, repeatedly kicking and queuing stand caused the spine of our employees and serious injuries in the jaws.”
According to the airline, an employee fell unconscious to the ground, but the passenger kept beating him with kicking. The company said, “Another employee started bleeding from his nose and mouth due to a strong kick on the jaw of another employee, when he was bent down to help his colleague fainted.”
According to the statement, “When the passenger was politely told about the additional goods and asked to pay the applicable fee, he refused and forcibly entered the aerobridge without completing the boarding process, which was a violation of the aviation security protocol. An CISF official brought him back to the gate.”
SpiceJet wrote a letter to the ministry
The airline said that the passenger’s behavior at the gate became even more aggressive. The statement said that an FIR has been lodged in the local police and the airline has started the process of putting the passenger in the no-fly list as per the civil aviation rules. SpiceJet has also written a letter to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, giving information about the deadly attack on its employees and requested appropriate action against the passenger.

Srinagar’s Public Relations Officer (Defense) said in a statement, “The case of an alleged dispute between a military personnel and airline employee at Srinagar Airport on 26 July 2025 has come to the notice of the Indian Army. The Indian Army is committed to maintaining the highest standards of discipline and conduct and takes all the allegations seriously. The officers are supporting the case.”
