Story of becoming ‘Dishom Guru’ from Shibu Soren
After killing his father, he felt that it is more important to gather tribal society against the Mahajans. He started working against the usurers.
In 1970, he came out openly against the Mahajans and started the paddy harvesting movement. Shibu Soren came into the discussion by running a movement against the users, but made the Mahajans his enemy.
Mahajans gathered the mercenaries to remove Shibu from the road. In those days, Shibu Soren used to go from village to village to make the tribals aware. Meanwhile, once he was surrounded by the goons of Mahajans. It was rainy season. The Barakar river was in spate. Shibu Soren understood that it is difficult to escape now.
He did not see Ava Taw, increased his speed and jumped into the river including the bike. Everyone felt that they were sure to die, but after a while Shibu swims and reached the other end of the river.
People considered it a divine miracle. The tribals started calling Shibu ‘Dishom Guru’. In Santhali, Dishom Guru means the Guru of the country.
