Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand said on Sunday (3 August 2025) that a cow should have been taken into it during the inauguration of the new Parliament House in Central Vista. He asked reporters, “If the idol of a cow can enter Parliament, then why can’t the living cow be brought inside?”

Shankaracharya said that while entering the new Parliament House, the shape of the cow was carved on the ‘Sangar’ which was caught by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, ‘To bless a real cow should also be brought to the building. If there is a delay, then we will bring cows from all over the country and bring them to the Parliament House.

Avimukteshwaranand said that this would ensure that the Prime Minister and the building bless the real cow. The Sangar has been established in the lower house of Parliament. He also demanded that the Maharashtra government immediately prepare a protocol on cow honor. He said, ‘The state has not yet declared how to respect the cow. He should finalize a protocol so that people can follow it and should also fix punishment on its violation.

One Ramdham- Shankaracharya should be in every assembly constituency of India
Shankaracharya demanded that every assembly constituency of India have a ‘Ramdham’ i.e. a cowshed with a capacity of 100 cows. The Hindu religious leader said that the Dharma Parliament has passed a congratulatory motion in support of Hoshangabad MP Darshan Singh Chaudhary, who has demanded that the cow should be declared a nationalist. On the language dispute, he said, ‘Hindi was recognized for administrative use for the first time. The Marathi -speaking state was formed in 1960 and Marathi was later recognized. Hindi represents many dialects – the same applies to Marathi, which has borrowed language from its own dialects. Shankaracharya said that any kind of violence should be considered a criminal act. He demanded justice in the Malegaon blast case and said that the real culprits should be punished.
