Brazilian President Lula Dr. Silva has severely accused the US of attempting attempts. In the month of September last year, the public came out on the road with Twitter (X) ban in Brazil. The Brazilian Supreme Court found the social media platform guilty of operating on Elon Musk and X according to the country’s law.
The ex -ban movement was given air by opposition leader and former President Bolsonaro, who has the support of US President Donald Trump. Lula has claimed at a time when former US President Donald Trump has announced a 50% import duty (tariff) on Brazil. This tariff can directly affect the Brazilian economy. Trump argues that the decision is a response to the ongoing trial against former Brazilian President Zer Bolsonaro, but Lula considers it a shock to the dignity of a sovereign nation.
Trump-Boleseonaro alliance and danger bell on democracy
In Brazil’s politics, the influence of Zer Bolsonaro and his relations with America has been very important. Conceptual equality and strategic cooperation between Trump and Bolsonaro has been going on for a long time. Both the leaders have been accused that they tried to attack democratic institutions, rejecting the election results. Bolsonaro questioned the electronic voting system in Brazil and planned to deny the results. According to reports, he contacted the army and conspired to cancel the elections and to get it again. Due to this, an attempt was made to prevent President Lula from coming to power.
Lula’s attack on dollar supremacy and BRICS currency advocated
However, in the meantime, Brazilian President Lula has also insisted on using other currency as an alternative to the dollar. He believes that the whole world is a major threat to depend on the US dollar. In this context, he has emphasized the need for alternative currency system between BRICS countries. Lula suggests that BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) develop a shared currency, which can reduce dollar dependence and establish global economic balance. This idea is also attracting many developing countries which want to diversify global economic dominance.
